John and Rachel Hiskey founded Servants to Missions with a desire to support local pastors and missionaries in Guinea-Bissau. Their heart was to serve the servants - to come alongside those faithfully leading churches and bringing the Gospel to unreached communities across the country

Pastor Tony Vaz
A native of Gabú in Guinea-Bissau, Pastor Tony served as STM's director for nearly a decade after the Hiskeys. His commitment to local pastors and his vision for rural ministry helped expand STM’s work. Pastor Tony continues to serve as a spiritual father and advisor to STM.

Pedro & Sloan Vaz
Pedro, born and raised in Guinea-Bissau, and Sloan, originally from the U.S., live in Gabú, where they serve side-by-side with local pastors and guide the day-to-day work of STM. Pedro brings deep local insight and a lifetime of connections with the people and churches of eastern Guinea-Bissau. Sloan brings a background in international development.
They live at the STM headquarters in Guinea-Bissau, affectionately known as the Jericho Base. Whether hosting visiting teams, mentoring local leaders, or raising their two young sons, Jayden and Tony, the Vaz family is committed to seeing the Gospel reach the most remote parts of their country.

The Da Silva Family
Dalton & Laura
Dalton was born and raised in Guinea-Bissau. He came to know Jesus through a welding school that combined hands-on training with the message of the Gospel. Today, he works at that same school, sharing with his students the same love that transformed his own life.
Laura grew up in California and always had a desire to serve overseas. In 2023, she moved to Guinea-Bissau to work alongside local leaders who are transforming their communities with the hope of Christ.
Living in the capital city of Bissau, Laura and Dalton serve closely alongside the Vaz family as part of STM’s team. They will help expand STM's presence to Bissau, restablish the NGO, and host teams.
